Homerton University Hospital, Children's Emergency Department – Art, Wayfinding & Information Design

Animal forms were derived from the adult ED patterns to give visual cohesion across the whole Emergency Department. A simple geometric style was developed, appealing to both young children, and teenager’s. The original Children’s ED suffered from an inconspicuous entrance and insufficient patient information. In response the completed scheme features striking large scale entrance graphics and information panels to inform both children and parents of what happens at each point in their care path.
