How to Get Your Car Ready for the Spring Season

Now that the weather is improving and the days are getting longer, it’s time to get your car ready for the spring. Here are some tips that will help you make sure that you and your car are ready for the upcoming season. Wash Your Car Your car picks up a lot of grime and road salt during the winter. Not only does this look unsightly, but it can actually corrode your vehicle and ruin your paint job. Now that the roads are going to be relatively clear, either wash your car yourself or have an expert clean and detail it. Be sure to wash your windows inside and out, and clean out the interior of your car as well. Replace Your Windshield Wipers The spring is the best time to check the blades on your windshield wipers and replace them if necessary since they’ve been working overtime during the winter. If you don’t need to replace your wipers, at least clean them so they function properly. Refill Your Washer Fluid You should be checking and topping off all the fluid in your vehicle, but your washer fluid will help keep the bugs and other debris off your windscreen this spring. Check it regularly, and refill it whenever you’re running low. Check Your Tyres If you had winter tyres on your vehicle, now is a good time to swap them out for regular tyres. Even if you’ve just been using regular tyres throughout the winter, at least check them to make sure that they have enough tread and are properly inflated. Check Your Alignment Your car’s alignment most likely took a beating during the winter thanks to icy roads and streets full of potholes, so bring it to a shop to have it looked over.
