Hyundai FanDome

UEFA EURO 2016 was set to be the biggest championship yet with more teams and record numbers of fans heading to France. But if you’re 300km away from the action, it’s hard to feel part of it. As official sponsor and a history of putting fans first, Hyundai wanted to create a venue in London that took the traditional fan zone experience to a whole new level.

Welcome to Football Heaven. The Hyundai FanDome in King's Cross was an immersive football experience designed to bring fans closer to the game. Using the latest technology, up to 1000 people per match where surrounded by a 91-metre 360° wrap-around screen that reacted to every moment of the live action.

Heavenly characters, including cherubs, the grim reaper and a prawn sandwich brigade, helped bring the game to life in a unique visual style, amplifying the emotions of the live broadcast. A team of 5 technicians operated 14 projectors, responding to every kick, goal, foul, and fingertip save.

Fans wore LED wristbands synced to the projections, whilst scent machines pumped out the smell of freshly cut grass. State-of-the-art surround-sound completed the stadium-like experience; the next best thing to being in France.
