In The Moment

Just here, right here, I could be anyone. The Pride Parade at London's Oxford Circus was my first parade ever and I was fortunate enough to be a part of it. Before the occasion I had only heard of it, maybe glanced through images online but never realized that I was going to be a part it. And so I packed all the lenses and the memory cards. My excitement had blinded me to the weight of my backpack but, I didn't care, I was going to be a part of the parade!

We started by gathering in a hall full of colours, prepping ourselves up for the march. Flags were hoisted, faces painted, accessories made and worn while I sat there saving my single battery for the main event.  Soon we headed out to setup our float, a DJ worked on his equipment as the others busied themselves with putting up the banners and flags. Countless vibrant balloons and flags rustled with the wind. Newbies treated themselves with an incredible sight of massive floats with magical beings dancing to their own tunes while waving at the audience.
People scaled statues and bus stops to glance at the gorgeous stream of colourful souls flowing down Oxford Circus. I shot a lot, that agonizing weight on my shoulders started to lighten itself as my eyes wandered all over the place capturing everything I could see. It didn't matter if I missed some incredible shots or if my pictures would turn out to be a blur. I was here, I made it to the most beautiful place on earth.

Never have I ever seen such a scene. It didn't matter who one was or where they came from, this was one moment that I stood in with nothing on my mind.
