Inheritance – Shenzhen

Inheritance – Shenzhen is a temporary non-profit project space in Shenzhen, southwest China. The exhibition Permanent Migrants' accessed such issues as voluntary displacement and economic migrancy.

A small format guide accompanied the exhibition, thin paper stock was chosen to reflect themes of mass production and transience. These production methods also had the added benefit of being cheap to produce and mail out, fulfilling the brief to produce something to limited budgets and time scale.

The guide is set in both Chinese and English and separated into 6 chapters by full bleed imagery and green title spreads. The accent colour is based on a set the complementary tonal values relating to the red Chinese flag.

Times and Courier were chosen as they represent international standard typefaces reflecting the exhibitions themes of global capitalism and homogenous models of development.

The cover imagery repeats, fades and strengthens to reflect the exhibitions themes of constant renew, growth and temporality.
