ISTD 2020 - The American Dream -Brief : Migration

The American Dream is a response to the International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD) 2020 brief, celebrating the theme of migration. This publication aims to act as a reminder that such journeys of hope have been taking place throughout history by highlighting past pursuits of the American dream. The publication really underscores historical examples migration during the 19th century within but also to the US. The ultimate aim is to present a history of the present, a way of understanding current migration waves by looking into past experiences of migrants and societal attitudes towards ‘foreigners’.
