Kinect the Dots’ was my final University Project. The self-written brief was to combine past, present and future technology and design processes to create D.I.Y. custom furniture.
Through many failed experiments, materials and processes I came across a style and material that worked with my brief. Combining C.A.D, Skeletal Tracking Technology and a material called Autex I was able to create the aesthetic I desired. Allowing the user to create furniture using their body, creating a net, which could be printed, cut out and assembled in the comfort of your own home with some basic tools. This Coffee Table is an example of the process.
