Korean Culture Exhibition: Typography as an aesthetic with light and shadow
We are living in a global world with various cultures. Some of the countries have similar cultures, some have highly different cultures. A way to understand cultural differences is by reflecting on languages. This project is an exhibition proposal to introduce Korean culture, the main theme is the shadow aesthetic expression of typography through light. This concept was inspired by an Eastern traditional lantern, a light-based style lantern unique to the Eastern culture that is not found in the West. This exhibition aims to introduce Korean culture to people who don’t know about Korea or are interested in its culture, the exhibition focuses ‘Hangul’ and its structure as a writing system.

An exhibition part that combines a light and shadow with an infographic design that describes the structure and writing system of Hangeul, the Korean Alphabet, while applying the Korean traditional geometric pattern as the background.
Virtual interactive part space is worked by AfterEffects
By applying poetry to light and shadow, objects and light can be combined to see various styles of shadows and display typography animation using a combination of English and Hangeul.
The animation is designed to aestheticize the way in which typography is composed of Hangeul using the English alphabet as a form rather than just typeface.
