Kultur vs Zivilisation n.24 (detail) installation composed of two body-kun painted in golden color and a mirror 2018 In the series Kultur VS Zivilisation the artist investigates the relationship between man and technology by setting figures in a futuristic era dominated by the silent and overwhelming presence of technology. The artist faces not only the struggle between human reality and the virtual dimension but also psychological themes such as the double, the shadow, the awareness of our own identity as individuals. The series proposes in a peculiar way the contrast between “kultur” and “zivilisation”. The contrast between culture and nature has been dealt with great authors during the centuries, first of all, the italian philosopher of the XVIII century Giambattista Vico or the great poet Giacomo Leopardi. Then the steam became part of the philosophical reflection of the romanticism and of the psychoanalysis.
