Scala dei Turchi White Wall is an open air park for contemporary art located in a piece of land near Scala dei Turchi tourist and naturalistic site in Realmonte (Agrigento – Sicily). The park was founded by Giuseppe Alletto in collaboration with Dario Orphée and Michele Lombardo in 2016. Scala dei Turchi White Wall includes an artist residency program in a two storey flat located in the central square of Realmonte, the city of the Scala dei Turchi. Giuseppe Alletto and the other people working in the context of Scala dei Turchi White Wall project cohoperate sometimes with other institutions and other cultural operators of the entire sicilian area. The place is an outdoor area so, for this reason, is purposely designed for installations, scultptures and performances. Scala dei Turchi White Wall, as a project, operates beyond the limits of the open air park too; in fact the artists are invited to create little site specific works for the artist’ residency indoor space or public installations for some open air spaces of Realmonte city. The mayor of Realmonte, in fact, in collaboration with Scala dei Turchi White Wall, wants to make Realmonte a true artistic city full of creativity and ideas. The general concept of Scala dei Turchi White Wall is the Mediterranean. According to the founder of the project artists are called to express the idea of Mediterranean in a wide and free perspective including themes and values such as Immigration, Friendship, History, Anthropological identity of the Mediterranean peolpes, relationship with Nature, Family, Beauty, mediterranean Mithology, Politics, etc….
