Kurumbuka, an international organization focused on leadership development, had experienced tremendous growth during their first two years of operation. They approached me to help them develop a set of marketing materials and direct a promotional campaign to drive program intake for their new cohorts. By this point, however, the brand was stale and needed to pivot their direction if they wanted to be leaders in their industry and unique location. The brand recognized that much of North American propaganda had caricatured Africa as a suffering continent in need. The brand wanted to change that. Kurumbuka’s programs would be communicated as partners with African leaders. Their program should be viewed as premium, life-changing, and a catalyst for community transformation.
