In March 2020, as the first lockdown came into force, L Devine's upcoming tour with Fletcher was cancelled. Her manager Teresa Raeburn, social media manager Robyn Elton from agency CYOA and myself immediately put our heads together to think up an alternative and the URL Tour was born. For a week, L Devine "toured" her social media channels, live-streaming five unique shows on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube. As one of the first artists to offer livestreams in a moment when music fan so needed them, L Devine managed to capture the attention of audiences way beyond her dedicated fan base. The URL Tour received a flurry of press coverage, from NME, BuzzFeed to Billboard, who celebrated it as "the most inventive livestream series yet."
