The commercial was commissioned by Grey London and directed by Hattie and Catherine Losing for Lacoste Fragrances.
Hattie shot the animation using stop motion to bring the embroidered Lacoste crocodiles to life, and film them magically racing down a snowy mountain range.
Hattie made two identical mountain slopes – one with ski trails and one without. She then animated the crocodiles skiing down both versions, and so she could composite them together in post, and made it look as if they were leaving tracks in the snow.
