"Ladies of Vogue" - Vogue Italia

  • Jan Jack Klos

Inspired by world of fashion and the famous 100 year anniversary US Vogue cover featuring world famous supermodels in 1992, some of London’s top drag queens gather for a group portrait in a West London studio shot by Jan Klos whose series “Queens at Home” was first published by Vogue Italia. Excited at being featured by the fashion magazine, the Ladies of Vogue (as they now call themselves) launched As Seen in Vogue, a regular night of performance and partying. After the success of this, the queens asked Jan if he would take a group portrait and the idea for recreating US Vogue’s iconic 100 year anniversary issue cover originally shot by Patrick Demarchelier was born. The final image is a playful homage to the world of fashion and magazines. Originally published on Vogue Italia
