Ladyland Festival (Brooklyn, New York)

Ladyland is an outdoor queer music festival/Pride party/rave/intimate concert, featuring local art, Pop Souk market, and over 11 hours of dancing & good vibes! LadyLand is a festival for everyone and all are welcome with open arms. That said, it is an intentionally queer space in celebration of Pride. Ladyfag, the mind behind Battle Hymn, Holy Mountain, 11:11, and Mouth Your Body, to name a few, has been dubbed “a nightlife sorceress” by the New York Times and “the woman saving New York nightlife” by Paper Magazine. She is known for producing afterparties for some of the most renowned fashion brands in the world, all while helping to keep New York busy dancing. Now New York City’s “reigning queen of nightlife” (according to Vogue) is taking the party outside with her first festival! For this festival, Oxygen was brought on to handle all audio for the big names that took the Ladyland stage, as well as all lighting needs to bring the show together in one immense production. Artists included SOPHIE, Kim Petras, King Princess, EVE, Aquaria + SSION. My role in particular included stage managing the main stage, whilst also managing my team of Oxygen staff who were operating the lighting and sound. The role involved a tonne of coordinating directly with the Ladyland team, with the managing acts on and off the stage, setting up each artist rider, and making sure the transition between artist was as smooth as possible.
