Lariatt Skate Shop

  • Nick Josephs

In 2015, I was approached by the founder of St.Albans based skateshop Lariatt. I was commissioned to design a logo and select a simple colour palette in which he could use to build his brand upon. The brand identity was briefed in to replicate contemporary cafe’s and coffee shops to give it the visual edge on the competing market. The logo needed to be versatile enough to be able to be translated onto shop fronts, stickers and various apparel. The client then went on to build his brand around this logo and colour palette using a variety of different media’s and platforms.

Since Lariatt’s launch back in 2015, the store has now outgrown their space in the Village Arcade, St.Albans and are seeking to move locally, into a larger shop fit. Using the previous logo as a catalyst, I have rebranded the identity of the skateshop to give an immersive brand experience to the consumer. I have reformatted the logo to provoke a feeling of Southern California from where skateboarding originated. To back up the brand identity, I have selected a new typeface, incorporated a vivid colour palette and created a bank of patterns and textures to be used throughout the brands collateral.
