We need to pause, every now and then, Stop the hectic life, have a bit of zen, It’s part of our life, or at least the way it is, We barely have time, to understand this quiz, We charge around, from place to place, Like a shooting star, lost in space, No rhyme or reason, for this hectic routine, Just a little cog, in this big machine, But when we stop, and take time to view, We understand, that it is not just you, But every human, controlled to race, Against the enemy, of time we face, Bills to pay, or responsibilities, As they slowly remove, our liberties, For unless we stop, and come together, This rat race prison, will last forever, Take time for yourself, your friends and family, Don’t let this world, stop you being free, For we are the people, it’s our world to control, Let’s not give up, this sacred role, For maybe a few, have a different idea, But our eyes are open, the truth is clear, We will not yield, what humans deserve, That Liberty and life, are ours to preserve. — Alan Firmin
