Very proud to say that on Sunday 29th November, myself, Maddison Briggs, Emma Dann and Hannah Brown, successfully ran our first virtual event! (And with no technical difficulties...woo!) As part of one of our final year modules at University of the West of England, we were tasked to host an event with no budget and came up with our virtual charity event, ‘Light up your Lockdown’ with the aim to raise spirits and get everyone in a festive, feel good mood. The event kicked off with a cocktail masterclass by the wonderful North Bristol Cocktail Delivery Company, followed by a festive origami class before a few games of bingo and the much anticipated charity raffle. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of companies and managed to get 30 amazing raffle prizes for our event! Incredibly, we raised £1,257 for St. Michael's Hospice (North Hampshire), smashing our initial goal of £500! This money will provide 50 hours of specialist nursing care to one patient and their family. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to do this with, utilising our skills to create the graphic design, marketing, comms, admin and delivery of the event itself, whilst having fun doing so! We are so thankful to everyone's generosity that helped us to raise more money than we ever thought
