Lilith

  • Scarlett Anderson

Created in ink and waterproof pen on paper. This piece was inspired by the ancient legend of Lilith, known as the first demon, Lilith is a prime example of female demonisation. In the creation story she was Adams first wife created equal to him of the same clay, but was damned by angels for her unwillingness to be subjugated and oppressed by her husband, cursed to a life as a demon for having her own mind. In my drawing Lilith flies against the night sky defiant against those who would try to bring her down and demean her, she is still strong and proud, for if voicing her mind makes her wrong then why would she want to be right in silence. This piece was exhibited at the Beck theatre fir international womens day 2022 The original is also for sale Original Created:2021 Subjects:Classical mythology Materials:Paper Styles:IllustrationPop ArtPortraitureFine Art Mediums:Ink
