In the photography world, few organisations are as important as Magnum Photos. From the almost absurdist shots by Elliott Erwitt to Henri Cartier-Bresson’s mastery of his self-coined ‘decisive moment,’ the agency’s legacy is unprecedented.
This year, it’s celebrating its 70th anniversary with a series of events, exhibitions and books, and we’re celebrating with them. The Magnum Manifesto, a book as well as an exhibition at the International Center of Photography in New York, explores how the agency and its members have evolved over the past decades. We spoke to three photographers represented in the manifesto – Constantine Manos, Richard Kalvar and Olivia Arthur.
