This project saw me hold sole responsibility for market research, trend prediction, product design, vetting international cosmetic manufactures and liaising with regulatory authorities. The original plan was to produce and retail the product In-house. But once the product was created, Make-up Revolution noticed us and a deal was stuck to produce and sell the products. Even though my manufactures were not used, the concept (The colour trends, the branding and a high street brand inclusive for all skin tones)I created stayed the same. Having a large brand produce my concept with no changes proves the concept was salable and I am capable of market research and applying that knowledge to product creation. In terms of PPM, the fact we had a pre-made concept put us in a strong negotiating position, something we would not have had if we were to have gone down the traditional influencer collaboration route. To now have it produced by makeup revolution with no changes to my designs assures me of my ability to research methodology and ability to spot trends.
