Masks ( Sculptures )

  • Tanausu Herrera

Tanausu has created a series of minimal masks as to draw parallels with the Egos attempt at finding truth through various Identities, our illusory sense of self, the “idea” we have about who we are about who we see ourselves to be that comes in all shapes and sizes. Beliefs are formed, constructed and worn presenting themselves as true, but when we start to see the impermanence of Identities and break free from the attachment to them we start to see that everything we believed to be true about ourselves or about others or about life in general, was all based on illusion, an array of masks that are interchangeable yet don't define who we truly are, the observer, the awareness that goes beyond any identification with mental constructions.
