Mentoring and Social Impact: A look back on our first three years

  • Isabel Farchy

After three years of training mentors and connecting them to diverse young talent, Creative Mentor Network is releasing it's first impact report. Here is our year in numbers.

We support students across three areas: understanding of the creative labour market - the roles, routes in etc; building their social capital and professional networks; developing the soft skills they need to achieve their potential.

Here's how they rated their experience.

Research shows that young people who make 4+ professional connections are 5x more employable and can earn up to 18% more. We encourage all our mentors to support their mentees in expanding their networks.

Here's the result.

Our mission is to make the creative world of work more representative by supporting students from diverse backgrounds, through mentoring, into jobs. We work with school aged students because our experience has taught us that it's only through access to information about the opportunities out there, that young people can make informed decisions about their future. If you can't see it, you can't be it.

Most of our students are still in full-time education but after 3 years, some of our graduates are out there in the creative world of work.

Here are the jobs we've supported them into.
