The built environment, and how it affects the inhabitants, was the focus of my MFA design thesis. I began researching the psychological effects of our environments and how they can make us comfortable and productive. I created a new type of cooperative workplace that combines flexible, public and private spaces to suit different needs. There is a small but growing trend in these cooperative types of workplaces as the job market changes, and I hope my project contributes to its growth. Where and how we work is an important part of human happiness and needs to evolve with our rapidly changing culture.
