Modern Muses of Cinema is an experimental zine that explores different depictions of femininity and beauty through the filmic lens. Issue 1: The Alternative Manic Pixie Dream Girl focuses on one such depiction. Examples of the alternative manic pixie dream girl are represented inside- the lead protagonist’s romanticised notions of them on the outside pages, and the muses rejections of them on the inside. This zine uses a variety of folding techniques, laser cut holes and book screws to bind.
