Mubi - Make Cinema Part of your Everyday

  • Tasha Williams
With new and amazing films popping up all over the world, cinema is now becoming a universal language which can be appreciated by anyone, no matter your background. However there is a stigma surrounding cinema that it is an inaccessible, pretentious art form that can only be enjoyed by cinephiles. Mubi wants to change that.
Introducing 'Make Cinema Part of your Everyday', a new campaign led by Mubi which encourages new and broader audiences to take time out of their busy schedules for groundbreaking cinema. These humble and humorous advertisements take the conventions of iconic film genres with normal everyday scenarios to encourage new users that film is more approachable and enjoyable than ever before.
The campaign continues across various platforms to spread the word of Mubi's services. To connect to users in a more personal tone, Mubi would also release a series of postcards. Featuring images of to-do-lists, shopping lists and reminders, Mubi encourages new users to add incredible cinema to their list of things to do today.
To extend the campaign even further, iconic film sets would be placed in busy everyday locations, to allow people to physically walk through and experience an aspect of cinema during their everyday routines.
