About me
Hi there! I'm Tasha and I'm a graphic design graduate from Falmouth University. I am a designer and creative with a passion for anything bright, creative and colourful . I love making and crafting, and often like to try my hand at a lot of different styles of design, and have a love for branding, print, spatial and experience design. I enjoy storytelling through design, whether this be through creating an editorial journey for the reader, telling the story of a brand and its origins or creating a set which can communicate a narrative and set of characters. Outside of my time designing I have fallen in love with cinema and storytelling, and spend a lot of my spare time either at the cinema or being immersed into the world of film. The visual world of film is something I find very exciting, and have a passion for set design and art direction. I have been working on a lot of film projects recently, ranging from larger productions to makeshift projects in my back garden.
Projects
  • War of the Words Publication
War of the Words Publication'War of the Words' is a series of design talks based in Amsterdam and hosted by Typeradio. As the event would be hosting many influential designers, the publication aims to act as a programme for the audience members. The publication revolves around functionality and ease, using a tab system on the side so readers can easily move between speakers. It must also be sophisticated enough that people would want to take it home as a souvenir of the event.
  • Design Museum Rebrand
Design Museum RebrandA university project to rebrand the Design Museum for its move to Commonwealth institute in 2016. My new brand aims to take the current typographic logo and put it in a new home. I wanted to introduce some more colour and pattern in to the identity, to represent the vibrancy of the design industry.
  • Just Tampons
Just TamponsToxic Shock Syndrome is a rare but life threatening bacterial infection which is caused by Staphylococcus aureus. For reasons that are still not understood, a significant proportion of cases occur in women who are on their period and using a tampon. Even though the infection can be treated if caught early, many young women have not been educated on TSS and are unaware of its symptoms, meaning unfortunately many cases have been fatal. Part of the reason TSS is still so unknown is because there is a stigma surrounding menstruation and many women do not feel comfortable talking about their periods. The packaging of tampons encourages girls to keep their periods a secret. Many leading tampon brands sell their tampons as 'discreet' or 'invisable' and suggest that your period should be something you should hide and be ashamed of. 'Just' is a tampon brand that challenges these perceptions, and aims to start the conversation between young women about their bodies, their periods and about the extremities of TSS.
  • Mubi - Make Cinema Part of your Everyday
Mubi - Make Cinema Part of your EverydayWith new and amazing films popping up all over the world, cinema is now becoming a universal language which can be appreciated by anyone, no matter your background. However there is a stigma surrounding cinema that it is an inaccessible, pretentious art form that can only be enjoyed by cinephiles. Mubi wants to change that. Introducing 'Make Cinema Part of your Everyday', a new campaign led by Mubi which encourages new and broader audiences to take time out of their busy schedules for groundbreaking cinema. These humble and humorous advertisements take the conventions of iconic film genres with normal everyday scenarios to encourage new users that film is more approachable and enjoyable than ever before.
  • Stalemate Set Design
Stalemate Set DesignFilm Synopsis: As christmas comes to an end, Liz the head of a small distant family attempts to recover what has been a cheerless holiday with a good old board game. However what was meant to be a night of family fun soon turns into all out war. Working alongside a talented film crew, it was my job as set designer and art director to help bring the visual world of Stalemate to life. This included designing crucial props, promotional material and the overall visual aesthetic of the set for camera.
