The project is quick self-initiated work to explore the balance between layouts and typography. Since no real client was standing behind the design, I was free to experiment with a more bold approach towards the topic of museum editorials. The challenge was to reinvent the subject of classical art through the paradigm of modern society so that it could spark interest in younger generations. Therefore, the central element in the creation was the use of a contemporary geometric sans serif font with heavy body weight. The approach I have taken was to connect the imaginary exhibition visuals with the beauty of literature abstracts that can provide a sensual element to the overall editorial, rather than a blunt explanation of the art and information exhibited in the museum. As for the layout, it was vital to keep a geometric frame construction that contains the information. This method provided a structure for the design elements that allowed the creation of a variety of layouts and positionings, which always look uniform. The outcome is a modern, exciting and elegant editorial project that relies on its layout, colour and materials selection to communicate to its user.
