'Music For Cats' is an album written by composer and music theorist David Teie, released via Island Records. By successfully identifying the various angles to this story: science, entertainment, human (animal) interest etc and targeting the campaign accordingly. This culminated with the news of the album hitting every area of UK media with multiple national TV hits, newspaper coverage, national and radio interviews, social first platforms and more. I also held an album launch press event at a Cat Café in London (of course), featuring live playthrough for the cats and a quirky interview opportunity for media and social media content. A second wave of coverage was secured with the follow up story of success where we had successfully managed to get the album to #1 in the UK Classical Charts and the first album 'not for humans' to enter the top 40. Such a fun project with a game client which was largely led by PR activity. This project was completed in my role at LD Communications.
