Music Promo Video - Scholar Snow - Light Work

Working as part of Less Of The Same, I was commissioned to direct and produce this music video for independent artist Scholar Snow on his second online release 'Light Work'. I looked at the root concept of the song and how that could come to life visually within a tight turn around and minimal budget. Scholar had a real interest in promoting positive aspects of his community so I reached out to Eat of Eden, a black owned, vegan, independent cafe that allowed us to film and kindly provided a hearty plate of food (big thanks, it was amazing!). We created a sense of jeopardy early on in the video, enacting the line 'brody ran off on the plug he went berserk' with elements of a chase scene hinting at a side line narrative. Scholar jumping in a car and going about his day without being drawn in was a nod to the songs title 'Light Work', meaning what ever the obstruction, getting passed and making progress is part and parcel of the struggle. We utilised key locations in South London (Brixton and Charlton) as well as West (Ladbrook Grove) and East (West Silvertown) offering a spread of textures, looks and feels.
