Tavistock Hospitality required a name and a story to capture drinkers’ hearts and minds that was authentic and a little bit different to what was becoming, even in 2012, a saturated craft beer market. The name surfaced after researching Coxhoe’s past and discovering the village's most famous resident, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, whose most famous poem was, you guessed it, Sonnet 43. The hero line ‘For the love of beer’ and its very own sonnet followed, which is now adorned across everything from its brewery doors to t-shirts, and bar mats to bar walls.
