National Dandy

  • Nadiya Taylor

A short documentary "National Dandy" (filmed as part of my course at LFA), which examines an addictive nature of Sapology, a cultural phenomenon that found its way to Europe from post-colonial Congo. I have cerated a narrative around the story of Eustache - a father of ten, a coach driver and decorator from South London, who spares no money on designer clothes to maintain his status as a well-known member of Congolese La Sap community in London. I have managed the production process from start to finish, including subject research, writing the script, conducting interviews, production scheduling and later editing.
