National Galleries Scotland (Speculative)

  • Graham Leggat

Home to Scotland's finest artworks, this speculative rebranding project seeks to unify each of the three Scottish National Galleries and give platform to their extensive collections. Working with existing analysis and proposals set by brand strategists Jane Wentworth Associates, a flexible umbrella brand, three site-specific brands and a suite of example assets were created to illustrate the proposal.

A marque was created which could frame and platform works from the galleries’ collections, while remaining a distinct and recognisable brand for the organisation.
A uniform brand structure for each of the three galleries helps visitors understand the multifaceted organisation's offerings.
A unified digital counterpart for the galleries encourages visitors to explore each location while providing additional context and information for nearby artworks.
