Nepal Earthquake Charity Relief - poster design

  • Chay Sells
For this piece, I was commissioned to create gig posters and other materials for the Exeter Phoenix to promote a concert to help raise funds for the Earthquake disaster that happened in Nepal in 2015. The process I used to reach this outcome was from creating a collage of images that help represent what the concert is trying to achieve.

I used the national flag of Nepal and the colours based around it to overlay a flying V guitar, thus creating a similar shape that fits with the flag. As well as enforcing the idea that rock music is helping us connect with Nepal, the hand passing the guitar also helps by acting as a symbol of unity. The gig itself was a huge success and in total we were able to raise over £700 for ShelterBox to help towards clean water, sanitation and emergency supplies.
