The aim was to produce a 12 paged digital tabloid around two supporting articles relating to the importance of typography. "The Crystal Goblet' by Beatrice Warde and 'Typography According To Crackpots" by Jeffrey Keedy.
With the articles being written at different times, 'The Crystal Goblet' written in 1930 and 'Typography According To Crackpots' published in 1993. The theme of Modernism and Post-Modernism had to also be incorporated into the editoral, as well as strong typographic elements for each section.
With this in mind, I was inspired by artists such as Josef Müller-Brockmann for Modernism and David Carson for Post-Modernism. Incorporating clean, simplistic typography and layouts for the first half and distroted and unintelligible compositions for the second half.
