Nike’s Air Max 98 is often seen as a male-focused sneaker,  but it’s 2018 and women are more into sneakers than ever, so thankfully Nike is releasing the standout silhouette in a women’s-exclusive colorway.
For those who are unfamiliar with this sneaker, it encompasses a visible, full-length Air Max unit in the midsole, upon which, in this case, rests a futuristic crisp white and cream rippled upper. Modeled by Chani and Celiya, founders of London-based zine, Typical Girlsthe Air Max 98 takes on a distinctively cool and trend-led look against an auto shop backdrop.
The Air Max 98 has been somewhat under the radar compared to more popular styles like the AM95 or AM97, but that’s set to change. As Chani and Celiya stated:
“The design has so many nice details, they are somehow futuristic, yet also distinctly retro. You usually associate this shoe with wearability but the detailing makes them compatible with smarter looks.”
And for tips on how to style this normally masculine silhouette? According to Celiya, with “A mini tennis skirt and a cozy jumper, I loved the white/cream colour palette we used when shooting, but I also think light denim could be pretty sick.” Chani offered some simple style advice – “most definitely with white socks!”
