NikePlus #StepCorrect Campaign

  • Ben Tipler

In an effort to get girls aged 14-19 in London to come together and get active NikePlus unveils their latest campaign. Via billboards in urban areas such as subways, NikePlus asks people to try out the new ‘suggested run feature’ on the Nike Run Club App. Anyone who signs up for the membership during the campaign will receive a free T-shirt. As well as this, merchandise will be sent out to high profile figures such as Music Artists and Athletes. The intent is to get people to wear them whilst jogging the suggested routes. Upon the halfway point of each route will be a street installation marked as a checkpoint. As the joggers step through the checkpoint they will notice the ground beneath their feet light up as they leave a glowing trail of footprints behind them. Here the runners are signposted to take a short break from their run to locate a secret music event poster hidden discretely nearby. If they find it they are instructed to take a selfie or photo with it and post on their story applying the campaigns strap-line #StepCorrect. This enters them into a competition to win a meet and greet with any one artist of their choice from the line up. Throughout the campaign Instagram will be used to notify people of any promotional offers such as discounts off upcoming Nike SNEAKR releases and weekly mixes to listen to whilst jogging. The campaigns successes will be documented across the NikeRunClub and Nike London Instagram platforms.
