Ninho is the last short film from the young and awarded filmmaker João P. Nunes. It became possible to produce this film thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign where it was possible to raise 5.000€ funds. The first public exhibition of Ninho took place in New York as part of the Summer Nights Series 2017.
Ninho tells the life story of a curious child: Miguel. Having spent his entire childhood in a tiny island in the middle of a lagoon, Miguel lives fascinated with the world outside which he can only see the lights in the distance, beyond the many courses of the lagoon. One day, Miguel is forced to leave the island in order to go and live in the unknown city, in the world of his dreams and fantasies. While living in the city, Miguel realizes that his dreams are less ideal and utopian than expected.
