Nioki Typeface

  • Marianna Orsho
Nioki is a playful sans-serif type family with subtle curved strokes and protruding terminal endings. In heavier weights the distinctive features of the letterforms are more apparent, giving a dynamic and quirky character. The features are subtle on the lighter variants, but retain the same warm, friendly handwritten quality. A large x-height, low contrast and curved strokes make Nioki legible and decorative at the same time. The simplicity of the letterforms suits the needs of contemporary graphic design, making it a great choice for advertising, posters and packaging design - while their playful character makes Nioki particularly well suited for larger text sizes in publications such as children’s books. The family includes 6 weights, including italics - ranging from Ultra-Light to Bold. Nioki supports a wide range of Latin-based and Cyrillic languages and provides advanced typographical support with features such as ligatures, alternate characters and small capitals.
