Nissan GT-R

  • John Aitchison

One out the most anticipated cars of the 21st century was the new New Nissan GT-R. The previous "Godzilla" was known to be a supercar killer and a favourite among the modding community. A lot of secrecy surrounded the car, and we were tasked with generating even more hype and excitement about what to expect. Only problem was, we couldn't show a picture of the car or divulge any technical details. What we did know was the Nissan GT-R had posted a faster lap time of the infamous Nurburgring Nordschleife than the mighty Porsche Carrera GT - a car that cost five times as much. The supercar killer was back. So we closed down the track for a morning to take the most dynamic shots of the track we could in order to tell our story. Each page turn would have the reader believe that they were about to catch up with the GT-R and catch a glimpse. But it was revealed that there was only one way of keeping up with the GT-R, and that was to sign up to watch the launch, live on Nissan's platform. 32,500 packs were sent around the world, but more than 64,000 people registered at the site for the unveiling at the Japanese Motor Show and to view the content that was made immediately available.
