NSRI - Underwater Radio

The National Sea Rescue Institute needed recruits… They needed to be capable and comfortable in the water in order to minimise required training time and save on costs. To reach them, we decided to try something a little different. Have a look.

We used specialised speakers that make the spoken word audible underwater, to broadcast recruitment messages in pools, gyms and training facilities across Cape Town to groups that make great recruits.

Divers, synchronised swimmers, underwater hockey players were all targeted.

Broadcast schedules were set-up to coincide with training times. Application forms were handed out at all broadcast locations. 
The NSRI received multiple applications from water sport athletes, divers and other water savvy individuals.  It has been their most successful recruitment campaign to date.
