Leading by example, Ocean Bottle unashamedly made their own ‘Econfessions’ on social media – encouraging others to join them in that all important first step. Then to rally the general public we teamed up with influencers on TikTok and Instagram who were passionate about the cause. Known for their comedic content – creators Ehiz, Tega Alexander, Maddy Lucy Dann and more collaborated on the campaign asking their fans to come clean to their own eco flaws. We also worked with TikTok for Good to get the #Econfession Hashtag Challenge trending to raise awareness of the campaign. From the animated launch film to the social #Econfession content, the campaign called on the universe to ‘come clean to clean our oceans’. The campaign championed relatability and humour, to make opening up about our eco-awkwardness more of an empowering act than ever before. The campaign was featured in Creative Review’s Annual 2022.
