OFFF London 2020

I created this opening title sequence as part of the module Advanced Motion Graphics. The only requirement for this assignment was using Cinema 4D and After Effects. Other than this, the brief was completely open to us to do what we wanted. I have decided to create a fake title sequence for OFFF London 2020, as it allows for great experimentation and creativity. I have been taking this assignment as a way to “play around” with Cinema 4D and a lot of its features: shapes, shaders, dynamics, metaballs, mograph tools, etc. The idea behind this project is based on links, connections, network between people and disciplines, which are key in the creative industries, since most jobs are the result of team work. I have therefore tried to communicate this through the animations. As often happens with technology, it might seem that most of the work is done by machines, forgetting that in reality there are people behind it. This is why the narration of the sequence starts with a more rigid approach, to represent the technology, to then move to a more organic and fluid look, to represent the people that work behind the projects. On top of this, I wanted to add a fun look to the animation, as in the end, we all love what we are doing. The colours I chose are virbant and modern and they are inspired by the colours of the British flag (white, blue and red) and I added a bright turquoise to create an extra layer to the colour palette.

OFFF has not been involved in the making of this project.
