On the Water

The eventual form of this ongoing personal project (carried on from my final major project of my graphic design course) will be a short animation, presented here as a few styleframes. It is a visual story about a woman returning to her hometown, Shanghai, after a life of journeys away. Revisiting a few site of the waterside houses that she and her family once lived in, memories of her childhood and stories that she heard from her mother and grandmother slowly resurface. Mixed on the water is a vision of dreams and reflections, a glimpse into how the lives of three generations of women have been connected and transpired.
