Design Your Own Marcello Morandini Print and Turn It Into A 3D-Printed Collectible

To celebrate the launch of the collaboration between Orlebar Brown and the Italian sculptor and graphic designer, we commissioned a series of monochromatic and playful still-lifes with high-profile set designers (Isabel + Helen and Zena May Hendrick) in order to bring the collection to life.
"Orlebar Brown has adapted Morandini’s striking designs onto our Bulldog and Setter swim shorts as well as our tees, to offer a modernist take on our iconic styles."
In order to enhance the experience across social media and in retail outlets, I also led on the design, development and UX of an interactive web app. The app allowed users to remix Marcello Morandini’s prints by manipulating his geometric shapes and turning them into a unique 3D-printed keyring.
The keyrings could be collected from one of Orlebar Brown stores, with key sculptures from the artists on display. A special event was hosted at the Notting Hill store in presence of the artist and with a live 3D-printing workshop.
"Master of perception, Marcello Morandini has been steadfastly building a reputation for visually audacious, monochrome works for over 40 years. His mediums vary from drawing to sculpture, ceramics to architecture, but all are conceived through his precise eye."
