Patchwork hosts the alternative royal wedding gift list for Meghan and Harry

S.H.O.C (Slough Homeless our Concern) is a Windsor homeless charity. With homeless people being forcibly removed from the streets of Windsor in the lead up to the royal wedding S.H.O.C. feared their shelter and volunteers would become overwhelmed . So they used Patchwork to set up an alternative royal wedding list to raise funds and support for their homeless shelter - during the wedding and beyond. Mandy McGuire said ' Meghan and Harry don’t need new toasters, towels or teapots but we do! So we’ve set up an alternative wedding gift list so the people of Britain can celebrate the Royal Wedding by supporting those in need.' People could buy anything from a packet of teabags for £1 to an oven for £300 or donate their time and skills to support the shelter. The project was featured in InStyle and Time Magazine and helped 100s over people raise over £3,000 for the charity.
