The concept of my design is based on the feelings and themes of rebirth and growing up, the purification that is forced on Jeanette and how she is forced to change. The torn-out book cover represents this brutality of the change and having to find your own personality and story again. The traces of bleach are a hint to purification and also to the sometimes dream-like quality of the book. The design also very literally represents how you need to take the book apart in order to reveal the underlying themes and to understand the story.
