Pennycress Issue 1 - Illustration

I along with many other creatives contributed to Pennycress's first issue - a collective of work from the creatives in Leeds. The theme was a question that many POC have been asked... 'So, where are you really from?'. To be honest I didn't get that question a lot... until I moved to Leeds. So I had made an illustration from a different perspective of people who have these stereotypes or pre determined image of south asians, many of them I have heard or been asked myself. -Leeds creative industries and beyond, local writer Jenessa Williams presents the first issue of Pennycress, a print anthology of art, illustration and written work created exclusively by Leeds-based People of Colour to address, challenge and explore the controversial question “So, where are you really from?”.-
