People and Place

This was a project about capturing the past and looking to the future, taking inspiration from the historic Observer Building building in the heart of Hastings. The project bought together 11 local artists, who were chosen for the exhibition ‘People and Place’ . On June 21st 2019, we were given hard hats and 4 hours in this historic building in Hastings town centre. We could use the space as we wanted and work in any medium. I chose photography and below are a few of many photos I took that day. On September 6th, for the first time since its closure in 2016, the derelict building was open to the public, to view the show.
