People Art Resistance is a zine and exhibition produced by AFROPUNK London and 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning. The zine challenges young creatives including commissioned artists from 198 CAL’s multidisciplinary art programme and open submission artists to respond to Black British resistance – past, present, and future. For source material artists explored both 198 CAL and Tate Britain archives as well as drawing inspiration from their own personal struggles, exploration of cultural roots and the broader context of global black resistance. The zine was created with the support of the Arts Council of England, and was distributed for free throughout the festival.
